A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

Railways plays an important role in the progress of India. A journey by train is a wonderful experience. Daily thousands of people travel through trains.

During my last vacation, I make a journey from Delhi to Shimla by train. I went to station by bus and bought a ticket. There was a great crowd all around. At platform hawkers were selling their articles. Some people were sitting on benches and some were standing there. 

The train was late. It arrived at platform at 5p.m. People rushed to the train. I also got in and took a seat near the window. Within a few seconds the compartment was over- crowded. 

After some time the guard blew the whistle and waved the green flag. The train started and gained the speed. We were soon out of the platform.

The train passed by fields. We saw farmers working in the fields. The cool breeze pleased me. I changed the train at Kalka for Shimla. From there train went uphill. The scenery was beautiful and charming. The train also passed through a tunnel. It was a thrilling experience for me. 

It was a pleasant journey. To travel in a train is quite comfortable.
